DNP CFO Sherry Wang meets with China VP Xi at China –U.S. Economic Trade Forum

DNP’s CFO Sherry Wang attended the Economic Trade Forum on Feb, 17, 2012 during China‘s Vice President Xi Jinping visit to the United States. Governor Jerry Brown, Commerce Secretary John Bryson, LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa also attended the event.

Xi has been China's Vice President since 2008 and is broadly expected to be President of China in 2013. Xi's trip has drawn intense interest, especially the tour in Los Angeles. 

“It was  my honor to represent  DNP for such a high level forum. “, said Sherry Wang. “Southern California’s deep economic and cultural ties to China is taking a significant step forward today with the landmark visit by Xi. His high-level visit to our region is the first to Los Angeles by a high-level Chinese official in 13 years, and it holds an immense relationship-building opportunity for accelerating our already strong trade, tourism, entertainment and investment ties.”

During the forum , Xi said that mutual benefit has been "the most salient" feature of China-U.S. economic and trade cooperation."Both China and the United States are winners. This is a truly win-win situation," the Vice President said. The large import of quality and inexpensive goods from China has helped the American people improve their real spending power and living standards and contributed to the efforts of the United States to maintain growth, said Xi.

The main topic of discussion was “ TRADE.”  The Los Angeles Customs District handles about 40% of total U.S. trade with China. China was the District’s largest trading partner in 2009, with a total two-way trade valued at $155.3B. Being a key US importer, DNP International wants to continue to take on more responsibilities.  “The growing trend helps DNP business as well,” said David Ji, the President of DNP. “Last year our imports from China increased by 50%.” Ji said DNP’s biggest responsibilities to the community and its customers  is product quality, security and safety.  DNP’s investment of a 80,000 square foot laboratory and warehouse ensures our customers of quality control  before the product is shipped  to the United States . This is our distinct advantage versus our completion” stated Ji.
